Hey guys! This week Tuesday our PSAs were due. For those that don't know I did my PSA on conserving water. I did my PSA on conserving water this year because people use water too much and don't think about the water we are wasting, and someday we will run out of clean water to use. By choosing this topic I am also giving my self a better chance at going to Olelo. If you want to see it I will put a link to my project page below. Anyways I'm sure you guessed that our blog topic this week is about our PSA. Mr. M wants us to write about wether or not we feel satisfied with our project. I actually do feel pretty satisfied with my project because I got multiple drafts before the final deadline, I feel that the message is clear, and I think the shots and the audio are pretty good. Below, I will be explaining in a little more detail one the reasons I am pleased with my PSA.
One reason I am satisfied with my project is because I got a few drafts in before the deadline. I didn't post all of them to my site but I checked my drafts with Mr. M and made corrections. I continued to make corrections and multiple drafts until I got my final draft approved by Mr. M. By making multiple drafts it allowed me to improve the quality of my video and at least I had something to submit by the deadline.
Another reason I am pleased with my project is because I feel I got the message across pretty well. My PSA is simple and not very hard to understand at all. The plot is just a girl that's washing her hands, and she realizes that she didn't turn off the faucet completely, so she goes and turns it off. Then the message fades on with the voiceover telling you to conserve water. With this PSA I am trying to get more people to turn off the water when they are not using it and to overall conserve it.
Lastly, I am satisfied with my PSA because I think the shots and the audio are pretty clear. Some of the shots could be better, but I am pretty happy with how most of the shots look. I also tried to get nat sounds of a person washing their hands and I struggled with capturing some audio. I finally got the audio to sound normal and not like there are jump cuts in it. But you can hear the water when it's supposed to be on, and the audio of the water stops when she turns off the water. You can also hear her scrubbing her hands together too. I tried to get as much nat sounds as possible and tried to match them with the visual, since I filmed them separately.
I am pleased with my PSA because I got in multiple drafts before the deadline, I feel I got the message across pretty well, and I think the shots and the audio are pretty nice and clear. I want to thank Taylor Nishimoto for being in my video. This is a link to my PSA a page so you can watch my PSA if you would like to. Thanks for reading!
Hey guys! This week's topic is about the United States presidency because of President's Day coming up. I will be listing three traits that a President of the United States should have. I think a President needs to be intelligent/wise, cautious, and hardworking.
One trait I think our President should have is intelligence/wisdom because we don't want to repeat history and have wars with other countries. Our President should know how to prevent that from happening. We can't have a president making bad decisions and starting wars and making our country dangerous to live in. Also, we can't have our president making new laws that are foolish or canceling laws that protect the US citizens.
Another trait I think our President should have is cautiousness because they may say something that they didn't realize was offensive to some people and anger many in and out of our country. Our president needs to be careful of what they say and what they do.
Finally, I think our president should be hardworking. If our President is lazy and does't want to work than our country will never improve and it might actually worsen. They wouldn't try to make new laws to keep our environments and people more protected, and we want someone who will make our country better and safer to live in.
Those are three traits I think any President of the United States should be, intelligent, cautious, and hardworking. I hope you guys have a great President's Day! Thanks for reading!
Hey guys! This week's blog topic is on morning announcements again. Making scripts isn't very hard, but I haven't experienced announcing yet because I announce next week. Anyways, I will be listing three things we can do to make announcements better for our audience. I think if we could get the green screen to work and if we made new openings and credits the students and teachers will like that. Also, I think we can try to be more upbeat when we announce and try to make it more funny.
One thing I think that would make announcements better or more entertaining is if we could get the green screen to work. Kolten and Mia T tried to get it up, but they couldn't figure it out. I think that the green screen would make our announcements look nicer if we had a picture of our school behind us instead of a green sheet. I'm sure the students will like it as well because if that week has a certain theme or holiday then we can also use a picture for to match as well.
Another thing we can do to make announcements better for our audience is if we made different openings and new credits. We use the same opening and credits, and after a while it gets kind of boring. Also, the opening was made a while ago and we've been using it for about 2 years. I think students will enjoy something new and might be more excited to watch.
The last thing that I think we can do to make announcements better for the students and teachers is to be more upbeat when we announce and to try and make it a little funnier. I think one thing we all have to work on is to smile more and I think that we can do that. Everyone was probably just nervous because it was their first time announcing and maybe we will smile more when we are more comfortable. To make things funny Taylor McCann incorporated our word of the week 9 times into one of her announcements. I think they will like this and hopefully get them to pay attention more.
Those are three things that we can do to make announcements better for our viewers. Use the green screen, make new openings and credits, and . I will be announcing next week so I can't really comment on how hard or easy it is to announce, but I did make scripts and they aren't very hard to make. Thanks for reading!
