Hey guys!!! This weeks free blog is going to be on the movie the "The Jungle Book". It's not the cartoon one, they are remaking it and it is a Disney film!!! It looks a lot more intense then the other movie and I hope I get to watch it! The main character's name is Mowgli and he basically lives in the jungle with his friends, but they are kind of animals. I mean actual animals, his best friend is a bear and a black panther. The bear is named Baloo and the black panther's name is Bagheera. Mowgli is just a boy and the only human in the jungle. One of the characters that is a tiger the king of the jungle does not like Mowgli. Apparently humans in the jungle are forbidden. This movie has a very interesting plot and that is exactly what a movie needs. They make the movie trailer really exciting. They add in the cutting edge music and the giant snake whispering. They don't show all of the shots so it leaves you on the edge. I love cliff hangers sometimes. Anyways, thank you for reading this weeks blog!
Hey everyone! There are only a few more weeks left of school, which means we will be saying goodbye to some of our students. But that means we will be gaining more students as well. New students this is for you, this weeks blog topic is media advice. One of the biggest pieces of advice that will really help you in this class is don't procrastinate. Procrastination is one piece of advice that every student in this class will probably write about this week. Also, always put away equipment, that is very crucial unless you like getting yelled at. Finally, be ice to all classmates. For some of you, they will be with you all three years, you want to make friends not enemies.
First, procrastination, that is a huge thing in this class. Students always procrastinate with their projects and blogs. For example, I waited till Friday to do my free blog and a constructive response blog. So I am doing it really late in the week. A lot of students including me have procrastinated on their projects. Trust me, the fourth quarter will probably be the quarter you procrastinate the most. You think you have so much time because you start before the trip and you keep putting work off. Don't forget if you are an 8th grade student just coming into the class you also have to work on the eighth grade slide show. For the past few years, many of the eighth graders have waited till the fourth quarter to really start the slideshow.
Also, always put away equipment!!!! Mr. M gets very angry when you forget to put away equipment. Leaving out cameras, microphones, batteries you name it. A few times this year our class almost wasn't allowed to take any equipment home because we left it out. You don't want to get to the point where you can't sign out cameras, or your laptop or anything. It is very hard to do well on your project if you can only film in school, plus you can't edit your video at home.
Finally, treat your classmates the way you wanted to be treated. You will be with these students for a whole year and many will be staying for more years to come. It may be hard to work with certain people for STN or just partner for fourth or first quarter. But just take deep breathes and talk and work things out. Also remember, try not to yell at them and take control. If you need them to focus ask them nicely or get their attention by making them laugh. Just try to be nice to them even if they aren't your favorite person in the world or you aren't their's.
Thank you guys for reading this blog. New students I hope you can benefit from this advice and it helps you next year. This class is amazing and it allows you to make amazing friends. Don't forget to read my free blog. Bye!!!!
Hola! This weeks blog is a project update! So I will be reviewing how our project is going as always. I am working with Taylor Nishimoto for the fourth quarter. We are making a music video on the song "Believe" by Shawn Mendez. It's a really amazing song and it should be up on my site by the 20th or sooner. So Taylor and I are kind of behind because we only got our script approved this week but we will hopefully bounce right back on track. We started filming this week so we aren't that far off track.
One reason I think we are behind is because we still have to call this guy to ask permission to use the stadium for one of our scenes in our video. Every time we call they don't answer and there is no voicemail. Also, when I look online for his email I don't find it. Did you know fax means printer? I did not know that and every time I would search his name I would find his phone number and a fax number. So a printer has a phone before me!!!! What?!!! So we need to find the times of Vidinha Stadium and when I just search up "Vidinha Stadium Hours" nothing pops up!!! So we need to call enough times to where they finally answer.
Another reason I think we are behind is because we only got our project approved this week and our final script was due on April 22. Thankfully we got it approved and we can film this weekend. The problem with our script was I thought it was a bit confusing. Just because we have three different situations and we would switch back and forth between situations every two shots or so. Then we rearranged it where it doesn't look as confusing. Also instead of having a seconds column we changed it to a composition column. Counting the seconds was becoming to difficult and when I added up all the seconds it turned out to be like a minute longer then it was supposed to.
The last reason I think we are behind is because of our filming today. We filmed today the scene with Mia Thompson and Erik but we had a few issues. So we had a set time and place on Friday and when I woke up in the morning some of our actors texted that they could not come. Due to driving situations because most of our actors live in Kalaheo and we filmed at Lydgate. Then we only had 2 actors. But then my wonderful mom drove us to Kalaheo and we picked up one of our actors. I asked our other actor but they did not text back. So, I learned to always have a back up plan and confirm if your actors will participate.
That's it for this weeks blog! This is why we are behind and hopefully we will get back on track because I have to finish this project, the ED Camp video, and Creative Arts video as well. Not to mention blogs, homework and looking for a news story topic for next year. I have got a lot of work to do. Thanks for reading! Bye!!!
Shaloha people! Yes shaloha is now a word, at least it is to me! I will be talking about the new movie coming soon on June 17!! Pretty soon, right! Just like the end of the school year!! Getting off topic sorry. But it is basically a sequel to "Finding Nemo" you guessed it it's "Finding Dory"!!! If you watched "Finding Nemo" you already know who Dory is. This movie is all about animated fish trying to have a good life and family without getting killed by humans. The voice of Dory is played by, yes the famous, Ellen Degenerous. Dory is a crazy and very forgetful character. She is super funny and upbeat. I watched the movie trailer and apparently she haas parents she just remembered about in that movie! So she goes to find them and faces some problems along the way. She too gets caught by a human like Nemo did in "Finding Nemo". I am really hoping the person that catches Dory isn't all crazy and kills fishes also like the human in "Finding Nemo". What I really like about this trailer is that it looks really funny. That's what makes people want to watch your movie, if it's interesting. Also it has great animation and everything looks so bright and colorful. Anyways I will post the video below and I really hope you like it and this weeks blog and I can't wait to see it. BYE!!!!!!
